What we Want
Olympians for Responsible Development and Liveable Neighborhoods has been characterized as anti-Missing Middle. Actually, we are for some of the provisions, against some, and believe others should be better-defined. Our concern is that any new policy should actually improve the housing problems Olympia has, and not create new problems. Densification of single-family neighborhoods, more affordable (cheaper) housing, building housing types people actually want, retaining older affordable housing and neighborhood assets, and keeping investor groups from competing with individuals for housing are the goals we should pursue.
